 Looks good doesn’t it? I don’t care if it’s Derby or Sunderland, the point is we scored 6 goals, 6 amazing goals – 2 from a player many thought would be a flop in his first season, 2 from a player who people thought was out of form(granted, yesterday was not his best performance) and the rest from the ’unknown’ newcomers. And here we are, at the top of the league. I know we may be displaced this evening, but you can’t deny that Liverpool are serious contenders for the title this season. Especially when you consider the fact that Gerrard and Carragher were not playing yesterday.

 It was nice to see Hyypia back. Admitted it was not his best game by any chance, he was much better today that the ones towards the fag end of last season. Agger was consistent and could have scored one himself.

I really don’t understand how a guy can score a goal from his own half, 35 and 18 yards away and yet goof up a close range shot. Well I won’t be psychoanalysing Alonso today, but I agree with most fans when they say that he isn’t ‘back’ yet. He was good but not upto his usual standards yet. Maybe it’s the long season, maybe it’s the absence of Gerrard or maybe the competition from Mascherano. Whatever it is, I hope he gets his act together before the Arsenal game.

 Speaking of Mascherano, he was fantastic. His sliding tackle that led to Torres’ first goal was just perfectly timed and executed. I think he is the best defensive midfielder in the wold at present.

Torres’ first goal? Beautiful. I have no other words. Torres is love. And the 22 million pounds?  To quote Berluscioni, Peanuts. Absolutely worth every penny. Good game, wasn’t it? Nice to feel confident about football for once.
